Velma is an 10-month-old Plott hound mix who came to HSMO’s Maryland Heights shelter in July from an overwhelmed shelter in Arkansas. She’s been spending time in a foster home, where she has been around a cat and other dogs and done well. She is a little shy, though, so HSMO recommends a quiet household with kids over 5 years old.

Monty is a 19-year-old Missouri fox trotter who came to Longmeadow Rescue Ranch last September malnourished when his previous owners could no longer care for him. Monty likes to have a job and aims to please. He can be pushy on the ground at times, so his adopter needs to be an intermediate horse handler who isn’t afraid to correct negative behavior and be his leader.
To adopt: Call Longmeadow Rescue Ranch in Union at 636-583-8759 to schedule an interview.
