If we ºüÀêÊÓƵans love asking people where they went to high school, the Nov. 5 election certainly added some notable names to the mix.
Come January, with the swearing-in of new candidates elected last week, five top-ranking state officials will join the list.
Foremost, three of Missouri’s eight-person delegation — a whopping 37.5% — to the U.S. House of Representatives will be graduates of high schools in either ºüÀêÊÓƵ or ºüÀêÊÓƵ County.
Two of the incoming representatives, Democrat Wesley Bell and Republican Robert Onder, got their diplomas locally: Bell is a graduate of Hazelwood East High and Onder is a ºüÀêÊÓƵ University High alum.
They join U.S. Rep. Ann Wagner, a Republican who attended Cor Jesu Academy in the Affton area of ºüÀêÊÓƵ County and was elected to her seventh term on Tuesday.

Republican Mike Kehoe will be one of the few people ever elected as Missouri governor to have earned a diploma from a local high school. He is a graduate of Chaminade High School in west ºüÀêÊÓƵ County.
Congratulations to Chaminade’s own, Mike Kehoe ’79 on being elected the 58th Governor of Missouri.

The fifth member of the bunch is U.S. Sen. Eric Schmitt, a Republican elected in 2022 and graduate of DeSmet High.
