ST. LOUIS — Arnold Britt, a firefighter who pleaded guilty to felony and misdemeanor theft charges on Monday, is no longer with the Ƶ Fire Department.
On Tuesday afternoon, department spokesman Capt. Garon Mosby sent the Post-Dispatch a short message that said only: “Arnold Britt is no longer a member of the Ƶ Fire Department.”
Mosby did not respond to requests for comment Monday after Britt had entered his plea in Ƶ County Circuit Court.
Britt had been on administrative leave from the fire service since he was charged last year with a felony and misdemeanor.
The charges against Britt stem from an incident in February 2023, when Britt was accused of stealing a wallet containing $600 in cash, $100 in gift cards and a credit card from a teen who survived a hit-and-run crash that killed four people in midtown Ƶ.

Britt is set to appear in court for sentencing on Sept. 6.
The Ƶ County prosecuting attorney’s office is asking that Britt be sentenced to five years in prison.
