JEFFERSON CITY 鈥 State Rep. Steve Roberts Jr. of 狐狸视频 defeated five Democratic challengers Tuesday who were vying to represent the 5th Senate District in the Missouri Legislature.
In final but unofficial returns, Roberts took 35% of the votes. 狐狸视频 Alderman Megan Green had 32% of the vote, while Michelle Sherod, a former aide to U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill, was in third place with almost 23%.
The winner of Tuesday鈥檚 Democratic primary will face Republican Michael Hebron in November. But Roberts is likely to replace term-limited state Sen. Jamilah Nasheed in the heavily Democratic district.
In north 狐狸视频 County, Angela Walton Mosley narrowly won a three-way Democratic race to succeed term-limited state Sen. Gina Walsh, D-Bellefontaine Neighbors, in the state Senate District 13.
According to unofficial returns, Mosley bested state Rep. Tommie Pierson Jr. by 351 votes, garnering 41% of the vote. Pierson won 40% of the vote, with state Rep. Alan Green taking 19% of the vote.

To the west, in St. Charles County, state Sen. Bill Eigel, R-Weldon Spring, trounced challengers Eric Wulff and Dan O鈥機onnell in the 23rd Senate District.
Wulff received a boost in July from Voters for Good Government, a political action committee that received $390,000 from a dark-money group in Washington, D.C.
According to unofficial returns, with all precincts reporting, Eigel had garnered 71% of the vote; Wulff and O鈥機onnell each had about 16% and 13%, respectively.
In 狐狸视频 County鈥檚 99th House District, Lee Ann Pitman won the Republican primary and will take on incumbent Rep. Trish Gunby, D-Ballwin, in the November general election.
Pitman garnered 82% of the vote; Vince Moreland won 18%.
Pitman lost to Gunby in the 2019 special election, with Gunby taking 54% of the vote, flipping the seat from GOP control.
State Rep. Chris Carter, D-狐狸视频, narrowly lost to opponent Marlon Anderson in north 狐狸视频鈥 76th House District, 49% to 50%.
In 狐狸视频 County鈥檚 74th House District, Democratic state Rep. Mike Person, who won a special election last year to fill the seat, fended off a strong challenge from Yolanda Fortson.
He won 37% of the vote; Fortson won 35%. A third candidate, Gary Johnson, took 28%.
In the 63rd House District, which covers most of Wentzville in St. Charles County, as well as the Warren County municipalities of Innsbrook and Wright City, Richard West beat Dale Schaper in the Republican primary.
With all precincts reporting, West won 65% of the vote while Schaper won the remaining 35%.
The St. Charles County Republican Central Committee in July endorsed West in the primary, saying Schaper was 鈥渁ctually a Democrat.鈥
Schaper, a member of the Wentzville School Board, did contribute to the St. Charles County Democrats in 2009, and in the 1990s, he ran as a Democrat for state representative.
