MARYLAND HEIGHTS — Missouri’s largest Anheuser-Busch distributor, Grey Eagle Distributors, is moving its headquarters to the Fenton Logistics Park.
The move will relocate about 250 jobs from Grey Eagle’s existing headquarters near Page Avenue and Lindbergh Boulevard to the site of the former Chrysler assembly plant along Interstate 44, which has been redeveloped over the last five years into a business park.
“Maryland Heights has been our home since Grey Eagle was founded in 1963,†David Stokes, Grey Eagle Distributors president and chief executive officer, said in a statement. “For the past several years, we have experienced significant growth through the addition of new brands and territory acquisitions, which has resulted in the need to expand our facility.â€
The new warehouse and office building on 24 acres will be more than twice the size of Grey Eagle’s current 115,400-square-foot headquarters. Construction is expected to be complete by April 2022. Gabriel Project Management is the construction project manager, Gray Design Group designed the new headquarters and Musick Construction Company is the general contractor.

Grey Eagle distributes 9 million cases of beer, wine, spirits and other beverages in Missouri and Illinois annually, including Anheuser-Busch products, craft beers such as Urban Chestnut and O’Fallon Brewery and Fitz’s Root Beer. More than 300 total Grey Eagle employees deliver in 12 counties in the ºüÀêÊÓƵ region. The company also operates a Belleville facility that services much of the Metro East.
The former Chrysler plant, which closed in 2009 and put some 9,000 people on the line and at nearby suppliers out of work, has been redeveloped by Clayton-based U.S. Capital Development (formerly KP Development).
“We developed Fenton Logistics Park with premier tenants like Grey Eagle in mind,†Scott Sachtleben, managing partner of US Capital Development, said in a statement.
It has already completed five office and industrial buildings in the Fenton Logistics Park, four of which are fully occupied, U.S. Capital said. Tenants include BASF, BJC Medical Group, 1st Phorm, Hubbell Killark, CoreLink, Beckwood Press, Alkem Laboratories, Nexius, and Skin Specialty Solutions.
The property also recently lured the first ºüÀêÊÓƵ-area location of new travel stop concept Wally’s, which plans to open later this year.
ºüÀêÊÓƵ County in 2016 agreed to a $34 million tax increment financing package for the site, which lets the developer use new taxes generated from redevelopment to pay construction costs. In addition, the state agreed to a “Super TIF†allowing up to $17 million in new state income taxes from workers at the site to be used for redevelopment costs.
