ST. CHARLES COUNTY   •   The St. Charles County Council has joined a list of local governmental bodies which want the cleanup of radioactive waste at the West Lake Landfill transferred to the Army Corps of Engineers.
At the urging of environmental groups, the council voted 6-0 on Monday night for a resolution calling for the transfer from the Environmental Protection Agency.
The landfill is in Bridgeton, which is across the Missouri River from eastern St. Charles County.Â
The ºüÀêÊÓƵ County Council and Bridgeton City Council are among those previously calling for a transfer.
