Last Christmas for Tamara Collier

“I just have a lot going on,” said Carla Collier, who takes a breath while Santa hands out Christmas presents to Tamara and her two children D'Marii, 5, and baby Dominique on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2017 at Rosewood Care Center. The Washington University Police Department adopted Collier and her two children for the holiday collecting two van loads of food, clothes, blankets and money. Collier, 24, was washing laundry at her mother's house in ºüÀêÊÓƵ when she was hit by a stray bullet from an assailant’s assault rifle aimed at a police officer. The bullet went through a door before hitting Collier in the neck, paralyzing her from the neck down. ºüÀêÊÓƵ. Photo by Laurie Skrivan, lskrivan@post-dispatch.com
