Landowners say hundred-year-old oaks have gotten sickly. Conservation workers are documenting trees with curling leaves and forests with thinning canopies. Scientists have found widespread evidence of chemicals in their leaves.Â
The verdict is the fourth straight loss in court for Bayer, after the company had been found not liable to plaintiffs in nine consecutive trials.
The decision affects such dicamba use in all 34 states where it had previously been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, including in Missouri and other Midwestern farming powerhouses.
