One ºüÀêÊÓƵ native and NFL running back is on the verge of catching another.
Los Angeles Rams running back Kyren Williams has scored a rushing touchdown in eight consecutive games, and by doing so, the ºüÀêÊÓƵ native matched a feat last accomplished by another ºüÀêÊÓƵan.
The feat by the Vianney grad Williams was the NFL's first eight-game rushing touchdown streak since John Burroughs alum Ezekiel Elliott did so in nine games in 2022.
The Rams host the Raiders on Sunday, and Williams can match Elliott.
Williams already has the second-longest rushing touchdown streak in franchise history, recently passing ºüÀêÊÓƵ Rams great Marshall Faulk.
NFL-wide, only three players since 2000 have more than nine consecutive games with a rushing score, led by LaDanian Tomlinson's 18.

When asked about the streak after the Rams' last game, Williams gave credit to his teammates.
"My O-line 1,000%," Williams said. "Everything that they do each and every week, they prepare themselves to be in a situation like this even if it's on the goal line or fourth and one third and one. They prepare themselves to make sure that we get those first downs or get those touchdowns, so I credit all that to my offensive linemen."
For Williams, this season has been a continuation of his emergence. In his third year in the league and second as a full-time player, he is putting himself in elite company.
He has 22 scrimmage touchdowns since the start of 2023, the most in the NFL in that span. Williams tied Eric Dickerson (22) for the most touchdowns by a Rams player in his first 16 starts.
With a touchdown Sunday, Williams would pass Dickerson for the most TDs by a Ram in his first 17 career starts. It would also be the second-most in NFL history, behind Larry Johnson's 26.
Entering this week, only one NFL player had more than Williams' six rushing touchdowns. Though Williams gives all credit to his blockers, his coach isn't letting him discount his accomplishments.
"Been really proud of Kyren," Rams coach Sean McVay said this week. "I think he's so competitive, his spirit, the way he goes about, it I love it. He's such a great competitor. … If we can get everybody to start playing like him, we'll be in good shape. I love what Kyren Williams has done."
As a team, the Rams have limped to a 1-4 start, continuing their struggles since their 2021 Super Bowl title and dulling Williams' individual accomplishments.
"This is football," Williams said recently. "Football comes with very high highs and very, very lows. You just can't ride those emotional waves. You can't be that person who's high when it's high and low when it's low. You got to stay even keel and I feel like that's exactly what I'm trying to be. I don't really feel losses. I don't really feel wins. I just continue to keep going out there and putting work putting the work in so that we can be successful."
